In May 2001, SightWorks launched its first podcast channel and site with long-time friend, Mike Watt. Watt is one of the most recognized bass players in the music industry. As an early pioneer of punk rock, he has played in influential bands such as the Minutemen, fIREHOSE, Dos and Iggy Pop.

He describes the podcast as "Mike Watt playing some tunes and doing some spiel. Assisted by brother matt and coming to you from the wild kingdom at the pleasure point, in San Pedro California!”

In the beginning, we created an early version of our CMS that Watt could manage himself. This enabled him to easily upload the weekly podcast episodes and enter related content to automatically add to the podcast stream that was served from Apple iTunes.

Fast forwarding to today, The Watt From Pedro Show is one of the longest-running and most popular music-related podcasts available. It has over 600 episodes, a worldwide audience, and a featured position in the “Apple Music Podcast Top 10."

In our latest collaboration with the artist, we created and launched a mobile podcast app for Apple iOS and Google Android devices. The content of the mobile app is still easily managed by him using our latest DigitalXE platform. Now, the content is also used to drive the podcast to Apple iTunes, Google Play Store, Spotify, iHeartRadio, mobile app, and a dedicated website.
